On December 27, 1996 in the kitchen of Rev. Renee’s home the ministry of the  ROSE began to unfold. Through prayer God spoke to Rev. Renee Lee about the  many social challenges that plague women. More importantly was the fact that  women lack the ability to attain a healthy and qualitative life spiritually and  economically through faith-based resources.  To answer the call of God to bring hope and healing to women, the ROSE was  established and recognized by the State of Illinois as a not-for-profit organization  in March of 1997 by co-founders Denise Carlie, Renee Y. Lee and Elizabeth R.  the ROSE is a not-for-profit 501(C)(3) tax-exempt faith-based organization which  operates exclusively for educational and charitable purposes to help women  become free from the bondage of substance use disorders, domestic violence  and economically disadvantaged.

At its inception the ROSE operated as an adjunct service provider offering  spirituality groups, retreats, community empowerment seminars and spiritual  mentoring to women in treatment facilities and shelters  the ROSE is a non-denominational faith-based organization comprised of  individuals of various religious affiliations that fundamentally have a love for God  and are called to community service and kingdom building advancement beyond  the traditional church. Our foundation is built on our belief that we should bear  the burdens of those who are weak to foster hope and brings solutions to those  Today, the ROSE continues to provide faith-based counseling, mentoring and support  services for women with substance use and mental health disorders and those  returning from incarceration. Our client population often suffer from trauma through  sexual abuse, rape and domestic violence. We engage clients in a therapeutic process  that guides them toward a path of emotional and spiritual healing.
